Blackberry Storm vs. Blackberry Bold

Blackberry has created two great phones that have similar features. They include camera, built in GPS, Media Player, Video recording, maps, wireless e-mail, organizer, browser, corporate data access, phone, sms/mms. Although, they are different in physical appearance they have many of the same features and functions. Consumers will have to really dig when comparing and contrasting them before making a final decision.

For a more in dept look of the two cell phones, I am going to compare and contrast their most popular features starting with the Storm and then the Bold. The display windows of both has transmissive TFT LCD, Font size (user selectable), light sensing screen; supports over 65,000 colors. One however, has a 3.25 inch screen size with a high resolution of 480 x 360 pixel color display and the other has a 2.6 inch screen size with half VGA resolution of 480 x 320 pixel color display.

Next the camera on the first one comes with 3.2mp, auto flash, auto focus and 2x digital zoom. The second one only has 2.0mp with flash but is equipped with 3x digital zoom. Both may require a microSD card to enable the video recording feature depending on the amount of memory available.

The battery life has a slight difference. Stand by time is 15 days and the talk time is 6 hours vs. a stand by time of 13.5 days and talk time of 4.5 hours. Both have a removable/rechargeable cryptographic lithium cell battery.

You will not get lost with either phone because they both offer a built in GPS system and maps. These features allow you to plan and view your trip right on the screen, save a list of favorite places you like to visit and step by step driving directions to any location of your choice.

They both have built in 3.5mm stereo with headset compatibility, integrated earpiece/microphone, speaker phone and Bluetooth ready. However, one has a touch screen keyboard (allows you to type by touch) vs. a QWERTY keyboard (allows you to type on a regular keyboard) on the other. The built in microphone is a great asset to both phones because it allows users to send voice e-mails. This comes in handy when you are in a hurry, donÕt feel up to typing or want to give a message in person but are unable to.

They both have media player which allows you to watch video or audio formatted programs, allow you to edit your Microsoft word or PowerPoint slides (copy and past, adjust font and other formatting) and doubles as an iPod allowing users to create their own playist list for easy listening.

The Blackberry Storm and the Blackberry Bold are very similar with few differences. Overall the Blackberry Storm offers a little more. It offers better picture resolution, more digital camera MPS, a longer battery life and more built in memory. However, if you donÕt like touch screens and prefer the usual keyboard style, the Blackberry Bold offers it. There are such minute differences between the two; one would have to begin to look at styles, colors, prices and services to help them make a choice.

Samsung G600 vs. Samsung J700

On the surface, the Samsung G600 and the Samsung J700 look similar, but how similar are they really?

Both devices are slim and slender, compact candybar style slider phones (which means they both come with a slide-out keypad). They also both just about the same size - with the G600 being 101 mm x 47.8 mm x 14.9 mm as compared with the J700 which is 99.5 mm x 48 mm x 14.8 mm. The J700 is, however, a bit lighter weight than the G600, weighing in at 92 g to the G600's 104 g.

The G600 has a 2.2 inch display screen with 240 x 320 pixel resolution and is capable of up to 16 million colors. The J700 has a slightly smaller 2.0 inch display screen and only 128 x 160 pixel resolution, capable of just 65,000 colors.

Both of these phones run on the AT&T EDGE network, and neither of these phones support 3G speeds. Both phones have Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP and a USB v2.0 port, but neither one has Wi-Fi.

The G600 features a speakerphone but no photocall, while the J700 features the reverse - photocall but no speakerphone. The phonebooks in both devices, meanwhile, are each able to store 1,000 contacts, but the G600 can save 10 more each of your dialed, received, and missed calls than the J700 can (with 30/30/30 versus 20/20/20).

Along the same memory-related lines, although both devices sport microSD card slots for expandable storage, neither of these smartphones has very much internal memory, with the G600 having 55 MB and the J700 having 10 MB.

Similarly, the batteries powering the two devices are similar - both Lithium-Ion batteries - but the one with the G600 is slightly more powerful, able to retain a charge for up to 300 hours of standby time and 3 1/2 hours of talk time versus up to 250 hours of standby time and 3 hours of talk time with the J700.

One enormous difference between the two Samsung devices is their digital cameras. The G600 has a 5 megapixel digital camera, but the J700 only has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera. Plus, the camera on the G600 includes autofocus, image stabilization, and LED flash, whereas the J700's camera has none of these. Both devices have some degree of video recording or capture and playback capability, but the G600's is better, being VGA capable at up to 15 frames per second.

For your music listening pleasure, however, both devices have a built-in MP3 player and an FM tuner (though the G600's is in stereo).

What is most surprising about these two smartphones, perhaps, is that it was the Samsung G600 that was released first, in July of 2007, while the Samsung J700 was released in February of 2008. You'd think it would be the other way around because the G600 seems like an upgraded version of the J700. So to sum up, unless you really want a pink smartphone (the J700 does come in black too, by the way) or unless there's a significant deal or pricing difference, then there's really no obvious reason to choose the J700 over the G600.

LG Arena KM900 Mobile Phone

The Arena by LG has been launched in competition to the Apple's iPhone. Needless to say, it has a wide touch screen, great connectivity and good balance of technology and features. The phone also sports an excellent high resolution camera and can be your perfect mate.

Form and Design The Arena is supposed to be a slim built, wide screen phone. However, at 3inches, the screen still remains a tad bit on the smaller side when compared to the iPhone screen. The rest of the story is quite same to the Arena's famed competitor as the phone bears striking similarity of design with the iPhone.

Key Features The new S class user interface is the first thing you will notice about this LG mobile phone. A unique 3d experience that sets the phone apart from rest of the lot also awaits you. A few of the most impressive features of the phone include a mammoth 8GB of Flash memory and a slot for microSD card and a cool 5 mega pixel camera capable of DVD quality stills and video capture. The camera comes with auto focus and a LED flash giving some amazingly clear results.

Other Features This LG mobile phone is also high on connectivity and features Bluetooth, WiFi and GPRS plus a USB port for wired connections. LG Arena KM900 Mobile Phone supports both dual and quad band networks and is the best in LG's touch screen interface.

Verdict It is a good LG mobile phone for those who want a good blend of technology and features from their phone. Also for those who find the large screen of the iPhone too imposing, this might be a good choice. The camera is of course awesome and so is the memory. However, the phone could do a wee bit more with multi media features and seems to be lagging behind there.

New T-Mobile Phone - Taking the Cellular Phone World by Storm

The only really question to ask yourself is this: Are you prepared for the New T-Mobile phone Google just launched?. I'm serious; the Google G1 is Google's first try at a mobile phone. In fact, it is positioned rival Apple's iPhone and RIM's BlackBerry. We're not through yet. This new T-Mobile Phone uses Google's phone operating system - the Android.
And that's just for starters. The advantages the Android has over the iPhone operating system are numerous. For instance, you'll be glad to know that the new T-Mobile Phone has a 3.2in TFT LCD flat screen that supports HVGA. In fact, it goes hand in glove with a full 5-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard. What makes this so special? In a nutshell, this keyboard really helps professional to work more efficiently and quickly. The slide action screen is lets you view the screen as you are input data. I don't have to tell you how priceless this. But that's not all. High-speed Internet access via the 3G-phone network along with Wi-Fi is a major asset.

Look, the new T-Mobile phone is actually comes preloaded with Google Search, Maps, Gmail with Contacts, Calendar, Google Talk, and YouTube. And it doesn't stop there; Google has set up seamless interfacing between mobile and traditional communications. Moreover, database features are a key requirement for traveling executives. Listen, I'm not kidding around, accessing your webmail and surfing the net make the new T-Mobile phone the cream of the crop. This is not just my opinion. Google views the G1 as a way to access world's information - not just as a cellular phone.

They've decided to embrace the fact that using mobile phones is fatly becoming one of the most important ways to connect to the Internet. Simply put, the new T-Mobile phone is the future. Here's something else, Google has chosen to allow its developers to create free software for the handset. Back to what I was saying in the beginning, the G1 uses HSDPA 2100 to send data at a very high frequency. What this means is you can use the Android market to quickly access a good variety of software and media downloads.

Also, another great feature is the fact that you will be able to store unlimited entries and fields in the address book. Okay, I'm nearly done, but let me tell you a little bit about the slim handset you'll get with your new t-mobile phone. Quite simply you'll be looking at 117.7 mm by 55.7 by 17.1 mm. And, on top of that, you'll enjoy up to 406 minutes of talk time. With all these amazing features, it doesn't take long for anyone to see the new T-Mobile phone is a diamond in the rough.

If you want one, you'd better move fast...the clock is ticking.

Which smartphones should you want to buy in 2009?

Smartphones have always been big business, but this year, they're set to get even bigger, and a selection of new phones in 2009 look set to make them all the more important: the Nokia N97, the Toshiba TG01, and the astounding Palm Pre.

Nokia N97 - a touch of Symbian

If we're discussing smartphone software, Symbian has always been one of the big names in the market, and the most up-to-date, touch-based version continues that upstanding tradition, in the body of the Nokia N97. You don't just get a touchscreen, though, since the Nokia N97 has also got a full QWERTY keyboard, that makes texting, live chat and emails so easy to do on the move. As for what else it can do, the Nokia N97 will also impress with its 5 MP camera, awesome multimedia player (which includes video playback that simply has to be seen to be truly appreciated), a huge 32Gb of storage space, and super-fast web access. Basically, the Nokia N97 is amongst the best phones in existence.

Toshiba TG01 - Windows, but nice

Whilst Symbian has been evolving competitors Microsoft haven't been resting on their laurels, and the new phone to show off Windows Mobile is the super-powerful Toshiba TG01. It doesn't just have the biggest screen ever found on a mobile phone, weighing in at 4.1 inches, but the Toshiba TG01 also has the most powerful processor ever used in a mobile phone. Dubbed Snapdragon, the 1GHz, multi-core chipset gives the Toshiba TG01 raw power, and since that's what's needed to let Windows Mobile run at its optimum level, the Toshiba TG01 is arguably the best WinMo phone that's ever been announced.

Palm Pre - the new hotness

However, there's a new kind on the block, which wants to take the smartphone crown all for itself. The Nokia N97 and the Toshiba TG01 both both have raw power, but what the new Palm Pre goes for is sheer elegance. With the brand new, unprecedented 'WebOS' powering it, the Palm Pre brings touch-friendly interactions and innovative design to a whole new level. For example, consider the new Fandango software which should be available when the Palm Pre is launched. It's an online cinema booking app, which lets you purchase tickets and watch trailers on your phone. However, even the Nokia N97 will most likely be able to do that. The Palm Pre, however, can also automatically add a note in your calendar, and contact people who are going with you, to let them know when and where. It's that kind of integration, and interplay between features that makes the Palm Pre the best candidate for phone of the year.

Nokia 5310 XpressMusic mobile phone review: It's Great!

This is my review of the excellent Nokia 5310 XpressMusic mobile phone. The two things you'll love about the Nokia 5310 mobile phone are its incredibly small size and its brilliant color screen. It's less than 1 cm thick, and very slim. For a guy, it fits perfectly in the front of a pair of jeans and it's nearly unnoticable. It's really one of the smallest phoes out there. The Nokia 5310 mobile phone's color screen is really amazing too. The colors are brilliant and not difficult to read outdoors. The screen is high-resolution so that the UI looks great.

The Nokia 5310 mobile phone of course supports Bluetooth. I have found two great uses for Bluetooth on the Nokia 5310. The first is syncing with a computer in order to download photos and synchronize information. I use an Apple MacBook to download the photos from my Nokia 5310 mobile phone wirelessly to my Mac. I can also use iSync to move new contacts from my phone to the Address Book application on my mac, and and new calendar items on my phone into iCal on my mac. I also use a Bluetooth headset to talk hands-free on my Nokia 5310 while driving. It's very easy to set up once you have turned bluetooth on for the Nokia 5310. If you don't have a bluetooth headset, the Nokia 5310 comes with compact headphones including an inline microphone which also allows you to talk handsfree while driving or exercising.

The Nokia 5310 XpressMusic mobile phone is also great for music. It has prominent and useful buttons for controlling your music on the front of the phone. It allows you to directly connect normal headphones with a standard mini-RCA connector to the phone. It also comes with 1 gigabyte Secure Digital card which will hold about 250 songs. It's probably not as good as an iPod, but it works very well and means that you always have music with you if your Nokia 5310 mobile phone is on your pocket.

The Nokia 5310 includes a decent 2 megapixel camera which can be used for still snapshots or for capturing short videos. The Nokia 5310 works great for text messaging too and handles SMS efficiently.

In the US, T-Mobile is the only provider who sells the Nokia 5310 which is a shame since it's such a great phone. If you have a different mobile service provider, you should be able to find a new or nearly new Nokia 5310 mobile phone on eBay or on your local craigslist site. Remember that you'll need to unlock your Nokia 5310 mobile phone before using it with your existing cell phone provider's service.

I highly recommend the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic mobile phone. Thanks for reading my review of the Nokia 5310 XpressMusic mobile phone!

Get Mobile Tv - How To Get Mobile Tv On Your Mobile Phone

et Mobile TV - How to Get Mobile TV on Your Mobile Phone.

I had wanted to get mobile TV on my phone for months now. I knew that the technology was available in more modern smart phones and PDAs. However I couldn't find a way that I could get mobile TV. I had done numerous internet searches to see if there were any downloads or guides that could explain exactly how I can get mobile TV.

After months of searching I came across a some software, Which allows you to be able to get mobile TV on your phone, the only stipulation is that your phone must have internet access. Obviously this is the only way you can receive the feeds for the TV channels.

The TV channels themselves like CNN, The CW, ABC are responsible for the content of the media streams that you will receive through your mobile. They are similar to what you would watch on your normal TV with Advertisements and the same shows. I was watching Judge Jeannine Pirro on The CW the other day and because I have the iphone the quality was great. It is sometimes a bit difficult to view depending on what channel you watch and how much bandwidth it uses.

I would always recommend that you choose a channel that uses bandwidth less the 300 which means you have access to about 150 channels in this category. You will then be assured that the quality of the stream is as good as you can get. This tv streaming is not a form of P2P it is legally brought to you by the channel networks themselves so there is no legal implication of viewing these streams. this is a 100% legal method of receiving tv channels through your mobile phone.

I also get local news channels and all the sport and TV shows that I need. This was exactly what I was looking for in regards to watching TV on my mobile. Now if I am stuck on a bus or am waiting for someone I can watch TV on my mobile while I am waiting.

In summary if you want to get mobile TV through your mobile phone then there is an ideal solution for you.

Questions to ask when buying an SLR Digital Camera

In a world of low-priced cameras, it is good to know that are also options for people who take their photography seriously, but don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a camera. For these photography "purists", there are SLR Digital Cameras. SLR means Single-Reflex
Camera and the digital versions of these cameras allow the individual to take high-quality pictures using a variety of different lens types. The following are some important questions that every one considering a digital SLR camera should ask before making this exciting purchase.

Auto-Focus or Manual Focus?

Auto focus SLR cameras provide you with a tremendous amount of convenience when it comes time to snap your picture. However, there are several drawbacks to auto-focus cameras, including:

• Auto focus systems are run by electronics, which can fail you at the worst possible time • Auto focus cameras burn through batteries faster than manual focus models • Auto focus cameras can be noisy • Sometimes the lasers that control auto focus lenses see things differently than they human eye

Individuals who like additional control and customization options may wish to choose a manual focus camera. Manual focus SLR cameras allow the user to control shutter speed, aperture and the zoom focus features. Disadvantages of manual focus cameras include the steeper learning curve and the additional time it takes to properly set up each shot.

Can you auto-preview pictures with a digital SLR camera?

Yes. Digital SLR cameras offer all of the convenient features found in standard digital cameras, including the ability to preview pictures on the camera's screen, cycle through photos and delete unwanted images and easily transfer photos onto a memory card or computer.

What are the Most Important SLR Camera Accessories to Buy?

Everyone who takes their camera on the road with them should have an extra battery always on hand. (NOTE: Be sure to keep your spare battery properly charged at all times.) Also, a neck strap helps you keep your camera handy while on the go. Finally, a tripod is a great choice for anyone who plans on taking posed or stationary pictures with their Digital SLR.

What are Gray Market Cameras?

When you a buy a Digital SLR camera online or at a traditional camera store, you will either be purchasing a gray market or warranty-covered camera. Both are the actual manufacturer's product, but gray market cameras are generally not covered by a warranty (and are less expensive as a result).

How much do Digital SLR Cameras Cost?

Digital SLR cameras are available at a wide variety of price points, from $400 to $5000. The price of the camera depends upon the features included and the zoom capability of the lenses. Price may also be dictated by the lens package included.

How much Memory is Required?

Although the amount of memory is a personal choice, experts agree that a one gigabyte card is the most appropriate place to start. A one gigabyte memory card will hold hundreds of even the highest quality images comfortably.

Amazing Features of New Macintosh Compatible Digital Voice Recorders

It may have been a while since you have thought about voice recorders. The new age small tape technology was seemingly eclipsed by the newest thing in the 2000 era: digital media. Now that digital media has peaked and calmed thanks to exciting new Apple products, voice recorders are coming back into mainstream focus. Not just voice recorders but new high-tech Mac compatible digital voice recorders.
What do you remember about a tape recorder? Probably that it's slow, frustrating to work, difficult to hear and a bother to carry around. However, new digital voice recorders have come a long way. They are more comparable in appearance and efficiency to cellular phones or PDAs. What are some of the best features you can look for in a digital voice recorder Macintosh compatible device?

Even the most basic systems are able to give you at least 1 GB of storage while others provide a little over 500 hours of audio storage. Not only can you record your own voice or the voice of others, but you can also record MP3s that you hear off the radio. Models like the Philips Voice Tracer 880 lets you record FM radio, as well as program a smart alarm clock.

A Mac compatible digital voice recorder comes with a built in microphone that can record realistic and high quality sound or a stereo lapel microphone. However, you don't have to worry about fussing with the little buttons just to start recording. You have your choice or choosing a one-touch recording mechanism or a voice-activation system. With voice-activated recording features you simply start speaking and wait for the device to instantly start recording your voice. The recorder promptly stops once it senses that you have stopped talking. No words are lost and it picks up every word thanks to a larger stereo microphone!

These models come with large LCD screens for an easy overview of the system. You can playback high quality audio extra slow for note taking or extra fast for audio effects. Perhaps the best feature of all is the USB cable connection that allows easy downloading of all your MP3 and WAV files to your PC computer. For that matter, you can transfer the files to a laptop or PDA. You could even send these recordings as a voice message by way of email!

All of these Macintosh compatible digital voice recorders are made for Macintosh systems and are easy to carry and very lightweight. Unlike tape recorders of the past, they are easy to carry along and hardly noticeable when placed away in a protective case. You will want to carry a Mac compatible digital voice recorder everywhere you go!

Repair Shops That Fix Blackberries Are Like a Dream Come True

Each year, more than a million abandoned Blackberry communication devices end up in landfills. "I saw one the other day," asserts Joe Smoltz, a resources recovery and valued team member employed at a landfill this side of New Jersey. Joe did. Hundreds of abandoned Blackberries may be peeking out of smelly refuse in the state of New Jersey alone. You don't have to be a leprechaun to find one, although it helps.
The question is, Why do the little contraptions end up there? How do they respond to being abandoned in such a cruel, impersonal manner? Were they programmed for this bleak eventuality before they left the manufacturer? Or perhaps more pertinent, is there another way?

Rather than toss the thing into the garbage so that your Blackberry ends up in the landfill, you can get your device diagnosed just as if it were a human patient at a hospital, or at least a pet at your local vet; and once diagnosed, your Blackberry can be repaired - even if it is out of warranty. Independent repair shops, franchised or chains, or occasionally single stand-alone shops opened by an entrepreneur with a knack for fixing these enterprising little machines, are becoming increasingly convenient options.

Often surprisingly inexpensive, the Repair Shop option may be able to replace your trackball or your LCD screen if it is cracked or broken due to the carelessness of your significant other, or due to the inappropriate intervention of a large South American rodent inhabiting your night table by your bed, perhaps someone inconsiderate let the capybara in? Wasn't it supposed to be a yard capybara, and not a house capybara? It's too late now, as it perched on your night table thinking it was a cat, and suddenly you were awakened by a series of odd noises, the most ominous sounds emanating from your now damaged Blackberry. You head into the repair shop, dazed but somehow confident. "My capybara …" The repair person behind the counter is friendly and immediately realizes your predicament. "Screen cracked? Scroll wheel no longer navigating correctly?" he asks. It's obvious that you've come to the right place.

Reverse Lookup Cell Phones - Cellular Numbers Can Reveal Identities

If you do a reverse lookup on a cell phone cellular number you can discover the identity of the owner of that number through a not terribly imaginatively named 'reverse cell phone directory'.
These directories are actually websites with just one function. They take a cell phone number you have and search their database of cellular phone numbers until they find a match then they return to you the identity of the owner of that number.

Along with the owner name you can also get quit a few other details such as:

current address
Household members
Phone company and carrier
Possible neighbors and relatives
Issuing location with map
Other phone numbers belonging to owner
Previous addresses / residences
These directories are also the only place you can get such information from cell phone and unlisted numbers as regular telephone directories only get their information from government agencies that give out residential number under public domain laws that do not apply to cellular numbers. Reverse cell detective has gathered their database information from many sources and companies that keep phone lists and continues to do so every day to be up to date.

This is all completely legal and completely anonymous to allow you to get information you need if you are being prank called or threatened from a cell phone or if you are doing some investigation work into a suspicious number you found or even need more information before you make an important professional call.

Smartphones 101

These days there is a gadget for everything. Technology is getting more and more advanced, and each new gadget has more advanced features. The days of stopping at payphones to make a call are long gone thanks to the invention of mobile phones, and now anyone can call home from anywhere, even from Mount Everest.
Like everything else in technology, the mobile phone has gone through several evolutions from the beginner big bulky car phones to tiny little mobile pocket gadgets and eventually to smartphones.

A smartphone is a phone that offers advanced capabilities beyond the typical cell phone that is also wi-fi. Many define a smartphone by the way they use it. Basically, the smartphone is a mini computer and phone combination. The smartphone allows for complete functionality of communication in a small wireless mobile package, offering advanced capabilities beyond a typical mobile phone, often with PC-like functionality.

Basically, smartphones are miniature computers that have phone capability. Smartphones come with a variety of features, including email, Internet browsing, full operating systems, GPS, camera and video capability, organizers, calendars, mp3 players full operating systems, full keyboards, oh and of course the cell phone. Some smartphones also have touch screens, such as the iPhone and the newest Blackberry Storm.

The first ever smartphone was called Simon. Designed in 1992 by IBM and released to the public by BellSouth in 1993. It contained an address book, calculator, note pad, email, fax and games and by today's advanced standards would is considered pretty limited and low-end, especially in being called a smartphone.

In 2001 RIM released the first BlackBerry smartphone which was the first smartphone optimized for wireless email use. The BlackBerry popularity was astounding with a total customer base of 8 million subscribers by June 2007, most of which is based in North America. RIM BlackBerry operating system is focused on easy operation, recently it has seen a surge in third-party applications and has been improved to offer full multimedia support.

The BlackBerry comes in several models, including, Bold, Curve, Pearl and Storm, offering a wide range in prices and features for everyone. This year the long awaited newest model of BlackBerry Storm was released that features the first BlackBerry touch screen that is a unique moving touch screen, which, clicks when you press down to provide tactile feedback when typing, clicking web links, selecting icons and more. Bravo to RIM for adding something different as this isn't the resistive touch screen usually found on Windows Mobile devices, nor is it the "simple" capacitive display found on the iPhone and a few other phones.

There are several manufacturers of smartphones today, each running their operating system, including Apple's iPhone which is one of the best sellers of smartphones.

News with a View - Technology Videos

A picture equals thousand words and a moving picture equals thousand pictures - such is the power of video.
Small wonder that technology videos, a more recent manner of disseminating technology news, are a popular marketing tool of most companies selling gadgetry and/or technologies. Then there is the deteriorating attention span of readers/viewers - another factor that makes videos a more attractive marketing option. Who wants to plod through the yellow pages or through small print technology news? Who wants a fact file in a droning monotone, accompanied by still shots of the product in a powerpoint presentation? Avail, instead, the instant information provided by a technology video.

Take, for example, Digital TV. Demonstration of how that particular technology works, through a technology video, leaves no room for doubt. People are assured that what they see is what they get and will line up to choose Digital TV over every other sort. The video can further offer comparisons and help the consumer choose to his advantage. Also, remember the old adage - you hear, you forget; you see, you remember? Technology videos probably act on this principle.

Technology news can be pretty dry and incomprehensible if served in the conventional manner. Packing in all the features of a product in the limited space often does not do justice to the product. It can be a daunting task for the page creator and equally so for the reader. It puts him off before he reaches the bottom of the page, whereas a lively video will have you wanting to see more. Moreover, it is difficult for the prospective buyer to translate, say, Intel XXXX into what he will actually get in terms of everyday operations. A video offers a clear picture, literally.

A short video film, strategically embedded in various related web sites is just the thing to boost sales and to differentiate your product from the others. A single click takes the prospect through 2 minutes of intensive watching, hearing and reading and he most likely comes away mesmerized and converted. Technology videos are definitely on!

Benefits of Video conferencing and technology videos

Video conferencing is a technology that helps many a Multinational Company to thrive in spite of operating from different functional bases at different poles of the world. For these companies, the technology of video conferencing ensures better reach across globe and benefit from multi-point client interactions possible. Add to it the advent of Internet. In addition video conferencing, another cost-efficient and effective means of updating men around the globe about a new development is one that comes by the shape of technology videos. Forget about how a distant and inconvenient place a company is operating from, technology videos and technology news and video conferencing means that right information is passed on the stakeholders at the right time.
Video Conferencing nowadays are also been used as a strong means of partnering when used in cooperation with right hardware and information sharing platform. All the employees of a multinational company taking part in video interaction have the dual benefit of seeing their counterparts as well as the technology news all at one place. And yes they can participate in real time communication as well.

All types of official information relating to various fields of induction, training, research, which otherwise would have been too much dependent on paper, can be presented using these upgraded medium of technology videos.

Technology videos - be it via video conferencing or Internet, can be helpful in a variety of domains. Educational training, business meetings, instructional training and collaborative communication with health officials are some of the areas where benefits of technology videos can be felt.

Video conferencing helps people staying in remote locations to communicate with outer world without much traveling or expenses. People today are getting to access and use technology videos more easily. Evidently, because web and its far-flung reach, information about latest in technology is getting disseminated at a faster pace, the same is also welcoming people to collaborate more freely and willingly. Students can take advantage of video conferencing and technology news to attend classes at distant locations that in normal conditions would have been impossible Students can also attend distant classes via video conferencing and continue an alternate career alongside.

Video conferencing, technology video and technology news can stimulate enhanced knowledge sharing, brainstorming and information gathering. Businesses can use video conferencing to provide official presentations to the clients and members of an organization or to solicit new clients in a professional manner, regardless of their location.

The History And Technoogy Of Digital Cameras

A device that makes video recordings and takes photographs with the help of a light sensor is called a digital camera. There are certain cameras equipped to take only still photographs, can also record moving pictures as well as sound. The digital camera is steadily gaining popularity over the other cameras available.
The advantages of the digital camera are many. The images taken can be seen immediately after it is recorded. The memory storing capacity is also amazing. Even erasing or editing is simple task in these cameras. The multiple functions of this camera, is the reason for its wide ranging usage. It is used in cell phone s as well as in the astronomical instruments to obtain perfect pictures.

The original concept of the digital camera in its rudimentary form was conceived by Eugene Lany, a scientist working on jet propulsion projects. He had clearly elucidated he process by which still photos could be taken with the help of a light sensor. This was conceived much before the images were digitized on scanners. The main reason for making the devise was to keep the astronauts informed about their navigation during the trips to space. Various photographs of the planets and the other celestial bodies were sent by them. Fuji DS1P was the first digital camera to be used in 1988, which had a memory of sixteen megabytes. In 1990, the first ever commercial digital camera was sold in the market. It could record and store videos and also could be linked to the computer for downloading purposes. It was named the Logitech fotoman.

The capacity of a digital camera depends on the sensor. There are various types of sensors like the CCD, CMOS which come in the shape of chips. The job of the sensor is to change light into indicators. The old use of the film in the cameras, have been displaced by the sensors. This vital part called the sensor has numerous buckets which keep a count over the photons touching the sensor. The image has a corresponding reading of its value. When the image is stronger, the greater is the reading of its value.

The capturing of the images in the digital is determined by the hardware build. There are three distinct ways of recording video. The single shot method refers to the system that captures images depending on how many times the sensor has been subjected to the light. Usually, in the first method, only a single CCD is used along with a filter called Bayer. Sometimes the sensors are used, three in number.

The next method also known as the multi shot method, is so named because of the sensor is subjected to light beams entering through more than one opening in the lens. There are again several ways of using this method. Scanning is the third method. It functions using only one track of sensors. At times the digital camera is also rotated to do the scanning. The method to be used is determined by the object.

There are different types of digital cameras today. With a whole lot of facilities they are being improved steadily to serve more purposes. The customer satisfaction comes from the wide ranging benefits reaped by using the digital camera. The blue tooth is a remarkable gadget that helps transfer of data, songs and images from the computer to the phone or the other way round.

This also helps one to transfer desired material from one camera to another phone too. Downloading songs and video images have now become pretty simple. The editing facility among others in the digital camera and its picture clarity makes it popular in the world today.

Only 13 Days Left Until The DTV Switch

Digital TV is a means of transmitting picture and sound to your TV set. It is done by converting the pictures and sound into computerized bits of information and compressing it, then transmitting it from TV station transmitter to your TV set. The signal is then converted back into pictures and sound by your TV using a decoder. Digital TV provides sharper pictures and more channels to your regular TV. This is because the digital signal is compressed, meaning it takes up less space in the airwaves, unlike the analog system.

Where as the old analog system could only provide one channel per station, on Digital they can up to five channels of programming for each station. Nearly all PBS stations are taking advantage of this feature and offering a multi cast of educational programs along with the standard PBS network feed. The main benefit of Digital TV is the increase in picture quality; digital signals produce a much better picture and higher quality sound. Ghosting images and crackling pictures are a thing of the past, and the best bit is it's available to everyone.

In order to receive Digital TV on your television you will have to replace or adapt it (unless you have a recently purchased TV). By now all brand new TVs come with a built-in Digital tuner which means they are able to display Digital signals without the use of a separate box. If your TV doesn't have this feature then you will need to purchase and attach a converter box to your set.

Set Top boxes vary in costs ranging on average of $40 and up. The Government has launched a program where it will distribute two $40 coupons per household toward the purchase of these converter boxes. To apply call 1-(888)-DTV-2009 or go on-line at: DTVanswers.com. There is a waiting list now for these coupons do to the increased demand because we are getting so close to an eventual date for the switch.

The digital switchover is scheduled to happen on February 17. Some stations have already turned off their analog signals . The state of Hawaii has already gone all digital. Now is the time to get prepared. On that day many remaining full power analog stations across the USA will cease to transmit even if the House passes a bill to delay the switch. Regardless of the delay, stations WILL stop transmitting their analog signals.

If you are not converted by then and receive your local broadcast stations by an antenna, then you will be left with nothing but static.

A Rapidly Advancing Technology: Wireless Security Cameras

In the best of all worlds we would not need security cameras, but in ours we do. Security cameras act both as deterrents to crime as well as recording devices that help reconstructing and solving crimes. Wireless outdoor cameras are seemingly everywhere these days, and most businesses use them indoors as well. We've become used to those cameras and pretty much expect them, but how are they actually being used and how do they work?

First you need to realize that the general public perception of security cameras is not accurate. When you see security camera systems in movies, it's usually some guys sitting there watching grainy black & white pictures on small CRT monitors. On TV you often see murky, low-resolution security camera footage that's barely usable at all. The general impression is that security cameras record very low resolution, low quality video on some sort of tape, for later viewing on little low resolution monitors. It used to be like that decades ago. But things have changed dramatically. Today's camera monitoring systems are state-of-the-art technology with superb imaging quality and almost endless functionality and possibilities for anyone's monitoring needs.

What has changed to bring upon all this progress? First, security camera systems no longer rely on tape. Just like film cameras have been replaced by ever more powerful and ever less expensive digital cameras, today's security cameras use advanced imaging processing and solid-state storage technologies to provide excellent video quality. And state-of-the-art compression means that hours and days of surveillance video can be stored on disk or solid-state storage media, and retrieved quickly and selectively.

Second, while security cameras used to be just that, cameras, today most are essentially computers with significant processing power, and they are networked via wires or wirelessly into an overall surveillance system. This opens up unlimited remote surveillance possibilities. The technology used is essentially the same as that for wireless business and home networks. Cameras use TCP/IP and the 802.11 protocols to wirelessly communicate with networks and computer systems.

Despite eminently affordable prices, the wireless outdoor cameras used today are technological marvels that support real-time H.264 compression, SD cards for local storage, motion detection, and embedded operating system and application software. These cameras can act as wireless web servers, network nodes, and can be equipped with rugged, weather and temperature proof housings, special antennae, different kinds of lenses and all sorts of pan and zoom mechanisms.

What all of this means is that wireless outdoor cameras have not only become enormously powerful surveillance devices, but they are available at a wide variety of price levels, from wireless standalone systems that cost a couple hundred dollars all the way to powerful commercial grade equipment that still only costs a fraction of what it used to.

The application potential for these wireless outdoor network cameras goes far beyond just security. They can be used as remotely operated high quality webcams with their own built-in web servers. Or they can be part of a sophisticated wireless security system providing superb high-res video.

Progressive vs. Interlaced Scanning: A Trade-off between Quality and Expense

In this posting I wish to discuss with you in detail about the two popular methods available for displaying, storing, and transmitting moving images. They are interlaced scanning and progressive or non-interlaced scanning. Let us start from the beginning and try to understand what exactly these fancy terms mean and which of the two is better.

An image is treated as a frame and each video frame is composed of a series of scan lines. Scanning takes place similar to the way we write and read text, line by line, from top left to bottom right. Both interlaced and progressive scanning techniques follow this pattern. The difference lies in the fact that interlaced scan pattern completes the scan only for alternate lines, thereby dividing a frame into two fields. One field contains all the even lines, while all the odd lines are included in the other one. A sequence of frames is played in quick succession, with the fields being displayed at twice the rate of the frames. Since the fields of a frame are taken at different times while shooting a video footage, they double the time resolution and you perceive the motion better. And this can be achieved at half the bandwidth requirement of progressive scan. But, when the fields are displayed in a different order, then they result in what is called interlace artifacts or combing.

Though the CRT screen-based televisions that used analog signals did perfectly well with color interlaced scanning, the advancement in technology called for the development of progressive scan mode. Since, the lines are scanned separately in the order that they appear, the images produced don't fade in and fade out. But the price that you pay for a crisp and clear display is a higher bandwidth, which in turn means a higher expense. But the change in display technology has made the adoption of non-interlaced scanning a must. Now, as far as your security camera is concerned, to enjoy the benefits of this technique all the equipment must be progressive scan ready.
